Supporting South-North Dialogue and Cooperation

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation supports and contributes to stability and peace on the Korean peninsula and beyond. For this purpose, we support the organization of international seminars, workshops and conferences. The Foundation¡¯s activities are based on the South Korean government¡¯s appeasement policy towards the North and foster North-South co-operation primarily in the economic field. The DPR Korea¡¯s gradual opening to the international community, which has diplomatic relations with Germany since 2002, and the North Korean government¡¯s July 2002 economic adjustments have created a new environment in which the Friedrich Naumann Foundation was able to co-organize its first training seminar on market economy in Pyongyang this year. With regard to the overwhelming success of its first activity in the DPR Korea the Friedrich Naumann Foundation will provide and co-organize training measures also in the future.
