53 Young Musicians of the Youth-Orchestra Havixbeck Visited the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty in Seoul
The German Youth Orchestra Havixbeck, one of the largest and best German youth symphonic orchestras, visited the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty office in Seoul in order to learn about the political situation on the Korean Peninsula before playing 9 concerts in Seoul, Gangneung, Incheon, Jinju and Jeju Island.
Walter Klitz, the local representative of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation in Seoul, gave detailed insight to the 53 young musicians that also proved to have a great sense of tact on the political floor. The young artists shared a special interest in North Korean Affairs and FNF's involvement and activities on the other side of the 38th parallel. But other subjects, such as the international work of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, liberal thinking and – in the light of the upcoming elections in Germany - the high approval ratings of the FDP were discussed as well.
Before the orchestra left for their first concert in Seoul the local representative had to promise to visit their concert on Jeju island.
