The 2011 Economic Freedom Network Asia (EFN) annual conference will take place

from the 10th to 13th October in Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia.

This year’s theme:  “Competition: Engine for Prosperity”

This year’s Economic Freedom Network Asia Conference will be jointly organized by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) and two Malaysian EFN Asia members: the Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS) and the Center for Public Policy Studies (CPPS). We will address the role of government, competition policy and enforcement as well as competition in public service delivery.

We are in the process of finalizing the conference program. Our event will bring together high-profile speakers and delegates from our network members from all over the world, who will share their expertise on competition, cartel and monopoly policies.

Just like we did last year in Indonesia (EFN Asia conference in Jakarta: “Migration and the wealth of Nations”), we are aiming to draft another resolution in Malaysia, this time focusing on competition. Of course we will also launch the 2011 Economic Freedom of the World Report in Kuala Lumpur. The conference will include world-café sessions and panel discussions.

We are looking forward to an exciting Economic Freedom Network Asia conference 2011. Once the program is finalized, we will send out formal, individual invitations.
